What to tip, service by service

Restaurants
Round up or add 5–10%; state the total amount when handing over payment.
Bars & cafés
Round up to the next euro.
Taxis & rideshare
Round up.
Hotels
A euro or two per night.
Tour guides & drivers
5–10% for guides.
Good to know

Don't leave it on the table — say the total (including tip) when you pay. Customs shift over time and by venue, and tourist areas often expect more than locals give. When in doubt, a small tip in the local currency and cash is rarely wrong.
