01Best time to visit
November–March: warm, dry, perfect for beaches and outdoor dining. October and April are hot but workable. May–September is extreme heat — hotels are cheap and everything is indoors.
02Arrival airport
Dubai International (DXB) is in the city; the Metro Red Line runs from Terminals 1 and 3 to Downtown and the Marina in 20–35 minutes. Taxis are metered and plentiful. Many nationalities get visa on arrival — check the current list.

Metro is clean and cheap but doesn't reach everywhere; taxis and Careem fill the gaps. Walking between areas is often impossible — plan by district.

Hotels moderate to high in season; alcohol is expensive; food ranges from cheap Deira cafeterias to lavish brunches.
