- Eat at hawker centres, drink at happy hours.
- The airport is an attraction — schedule time for Jewel on the way out.
- Use the free Changi transit tour on layovers if eligible.
- Book museums online for cheaper tickets.
01Best time to visit
Year-round hot and humid. February–April is slightly drier; November–January is the wettest. Prices follow events (F1 in September) and school holidays rather than weather.
02Arrival airport
Changi is the easiest airport arrival on earth. MRT to the city in ~45 minutes, taxis in 20–30. Fill in the SG Arrival Card online before landing.
03Neighborhood selector
| Neighborhood | Best for | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Marina Bay / Civic District | First trip, icons, views | Expensive; walkable to museums. |
| Chinatown / Tanjong Pagar | Food, mid-range hotels | Excellent hawker access. |
| Kampong Glam / Bugis | Cafés, boutiques, creators | Photogenic streets. |
| Tiong Bahru | Quiet, local, bakeries | Short MRT to the centre. |
04Accommodation strategy
Hotels are pricey; hostels and capsule hotels are high quality. Look for rooms with pools — the heat justifies it.
05Transit basics
Tap a contactless card on the MRT — no ticket needed. Grab is the ride-hailing app. Everything is air-conditioned and punctual.
06Cost expectations
Hawker centres keep food cheap; alcohol and hotels are expensive. Attractions add up — pick two or three.
07Food & local etiquette
Strict laws on littering, jaywalking and chewing gum. Tipping isn't expected. Clear your hawker tray.
08Photography & creator notes
